How to Increase Productivity In Your Personal & Professional Life Using Essential Oils
Essential oils have become a part of conversations between family and friends. However, even then, it is a very misunderstood subject. When people mention essential oils, they believe it’s just an aroma that is captivating. Although true, there are more benefits to an essential oil.An essential oil is a concentrated liquid that contains a plant’s chemical properties. It is called “essential” because it contains the ‘essence of’ the plant’s fragrance and aroma. These compounds are extracted by crushing and distilling the plant and then combining them with a carrier oil to preserve for use. A carrier oil is used to dilute essential oils and absolutes (absolutes are used in perfumes and other fragranced products) before they are applied to the skin.Examples of carrier oils are: almond, jojoba, coconut, avocado, etc.NOTE: Not all essential oils are diluted. Essential oils should be labeled if you could use them neat or if they need dilution. The essential oils I use are either labeled or information is provided by the company itself on how to correctly use them.As defined by the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy, Aromatherapy is the art of utilizing extracted aroma from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of mind, body, and spirit.
