Why I Love Dropshipping Business Model (And You Should, Too!)

The best thing that ever happened to me was getting the opportunity to start my own Online Boutique. Be it on eBay back in 2014 or now with MysticalBerries.

It’s not only taught me so much about self-discipline, entrepreneurship and being my own boss but also introduced me to the amazing concept of Dropshipping.

I know it’s such an in-term in today’s time where everyone is talking about Dropshipping and sourcing products and starting their own Boutique but also at the same time not really talking about WHY it’s so in! So I decided to shed a little light on it.

Why I Love Dropshipping Business Model (And You Should, Too!)

In layman terms, Dropshipping is a unique retail selling model that allows you to start your own Boutique without having to put any upfront investment, storing inventory and having to worry about packaging and shipping out items once they are purchased by your customer.

So if you want to start your own Online Boutique and wondering where and how to begin, this blog post will surely help you get some answers.

Why I love dropshipping and how it can be used for your Online Boutique –

+ Less or No investment required – One of the biggest advantages of dropshipping is that it requires less or sometimes no investment at all. Traditional brick and mortar stores require a huge investment from opening a store to having a warehouse or storage unit, placing huge orders to fill up the shelves etc. whereas, with dropshipping, your costs are limited to setting up website or marketplace, supplier fees (if any), taxes and other fees and inventory management cost.

+ Easy to get started – It is easy to run an Online Boutique in comparison to a traditional brick and mortar store when dealing with physical products. It saves you time and resources from –

+ Accumulating funds to buy inventory

+ Having and managing a warehouse

+ Packaging and shipping out orders

+ Handling returns and replacement orders or damaged products

+ Checking and managing stock and re-ordering them from suppliers

+ Location Free – You can work from anywhere in the world, even if that means while doing your part-time or full-time job or traveling overseas to meet the family (like me). You don’t have to be location dependent. All you need is wifi and your laptop to conduct your business.

+ Choose from a wide range of products – You can put a wide range of products on your website or boutique and not worry about pre-purchase costs or return items to suppliers if they didn’t sell. And it’s not just limited to sellers in China or products from AliExpress or Alibaba.com. There are so many non-China based suppliers that can help you launch your online Boutique with high-quality products.

+ Easy to scale – Online Boutiques are easy to scale be it in terms of multi-channel selling or increasing the range of products in your store.

Dropshipping is a very lucrative business model that can be used by both existing or new retailers wanting to enter the world of e-commerce as it gives them a chance to grow their product range without having to spend hundreds of dollars in inventory. Not only that, Droshipping can help you with – Product Testing!

If you want to have a boutique selling pet products but not sure about the demand in the market, you can start with Dropshipping and once you are convinced it’s the way to go, you can use the profits to re-invest in your business and get your products private-labeled / branded for your Boutique. Interesting isn’t it?
